Shift or the shoulder buttons slow a cut for higher-value scoring
Start starts a run, and also pauses or resumes during play
P pauses or resumes during play
Back restarts the current run if you want to start over

Threat Model

The Qix patrols the open field and destroys active cuts.
Sparx run the safe perimeter and intercept careless movement.
A fuse ignites on long cuts and burns toward your position.
